Today marks the official launch of the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro globally, beginning with an official launch at Mobile World Congress. Xiaomi 13 series phones, each boasting top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets as well as Leica co-branded camera, were unveiled in China close to the end of last year.
Xiaomi 13 Series Launched
There isn’t anything shocking about the phones’ specifications, given we have known them since December, but to review: Both models come in mid-range. However, the 13 Pro stands out due to a 1-inch-type sensor.
Both smartphones use 120Hz fast-refresh OLED displays; the 13 has a 6.3-inch 1080p screen, and the 13 Pro has a 6.7-inch 1440p LTPO display. Each gadget has a 50W wireless charging compatibility and an IP68 grade for water and dust protection. Did I mention that they won’t be visiting the US?
That’s a major shame because quality midranges marketed here don’t have these features. A $700 smartphone with an IP64 rating and also no wireless charging has us giddy as a wet noodle. The globe as a whole is aware of this, though.
Nonetheless, if you reside somewhere where the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will be available for purchase, please leave a comment and let us know if you intend to buy one. The Xiaomi 13 costs €999, whilst the Xiaomi 13 Pro is priced at €1,299. When we learn more, we’ll refresh this piece. Xiaomi didn’t share any details on a potential release date.
