Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X officially launched in China

Xiaomi‘s latest flagship series, the Xiaomi 12 Series officially launched today. The latest lineup has three devices, the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and the Xiaomi 12 Pro.

Let us take a look at the detailed specs of all the devices in the Xiaomi 12 Series:

Xiaomi 12

The Xiaomi 12 features the smallest screen on a Xiaomi flagship device since the Xiaomi Mi 8. The device has a 6.28″ AMOLED panel that supports FHD+ resolution and has a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The display has a resolution of 2400 x 1080p and a peak brightness of 1100 nits. It has 16,000 brightness-level adjustments and a TrueColor display as well which allows accurate representation of the colors on the display.

The Xiaomi 12 supports DolbyVision as well and has Gorilla Glass Victus for screen protection.

Coming to the camera specs of the Xiaomi 12, it has a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5MP telemacro lens. The Xiaomi 12 has a 32MP selfie shooter.

The Xiaomi 12 has a 4,500mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging support and 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 12 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip paired with 8GB/12GB RAM configurations and 128GB/256GB storage configurations.

The device has an under-display fingerprint scanner. The Xiaomi 12 runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 12 OS.

The Xiaomi 12 has been priced at CNY 3,699 (43,400 INR) for the 8GB+128GB variant, CNY 3,999 (46,900 INR) for the 8GB+256GB variant, and CNY 4,399 (51,600 INR) for the 12GB+256GB variant.The Xiaomi 12 comes in black, blue, and pink colors, there is also a special green variant with a vegan leather finish.

Xiaomi 12 Pro

The Xiaomi 12 Pro features a 6,73″ panel with a resolution of 1440p and an LTPO 2.0 backplane which lets the display have variable refresh rates from 1-120Hz. The Xiaomi 12 Pro supports HDR10+ Dolby Vision as well.

The display has a layer of the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection and it supports 12-bit colors with a peak brightness of 1,500 nits.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro’s display uses Samsung’s E5 material which provides a second-generation power-efficient 2K display along with micro-lens technology. Xiaomi claims this will provide a viewing experience comparable to no other device while saving the battery life of the device.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip at its helm and as per Xiaomi, the GPU capabilities have increased by 30% in terms of graphics rendering and energy efficiency has gone up by 25%.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro has the LPDDR5 RAM, which supports up to 6400Mbps transfer rate, and UFS 3.1 storage which has sequential write speeds of up to 1450MB per second.

Xiaomi 12 has a state-of-the-art triple camera setup with three 50MP sensors. The primary shooter is a Sony IMX707 sensor with an aperture of 1/1.28″ in size with support for pixel-binning with one big 2.44µm pixels and OIS.

The second 50MP sensor is a portrait lens while the third one brings an ultrawide module. Xiaomi has integrated the CyberFocus technology which is Xiaomi’s self-developed fast auto-focus tech which manages to keep a lock on the faces of the subjects and other background elements.

Xiaomi has also shown off its latest night mode algorithm that should capture more light in dimly lit areas while keeping noise levels under control.

There is also a 4,600mAh battery which supports 120W charging, 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi has also integrated its in-house Surge P1 charging chip to help handle power management. The Xiaomi 12 Pro will run on Android 12-based MIUI 13.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro comes in an 8GB RAM+128GB storage configuration that retails for CNY 4,699 (55,100 INR), an 8GB RAM+256GB storage configuration that retails for CNY 4,999 (58,600 INR), and the 12GB RAM+256GB variant that is priced at CNY 5,399 (63,300 INR).

The Xiaomi 12 Pro comes in black, blue, purple glass, and a green leather variant. We are not sure if the product will launch in India as of now.

Xiaomi 12X

The Xiaomi 12X is a toned-down version of the Xiaomi 12, it comes with a curved display and has a punch-hole display. It sports a 6.28″ AMOLED screen with support for a 120Hz refresh rate and it comes with a peak brightness of 1,100 nits. The panel has a Full HD+ resolution. Xiaomi has earned an A+ rating from DisplayMate, the benchmark firm for display for the display of the Xiaomi 12X.

The Xiaomi 12X is the only device in the 12 Series to not have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, it is powered by the Snapdragon 870 chip, which has proven its mettle and is not a bad option. It is paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage

Xiaomi has integrated a vapor cooling system for better heat dissipation. Coming to the camera specs, it has a triple camera setup on the rear with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with support for OIS, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5MP telemacro lens. It has a 32MP selfie shooter.

The Xiaomi 12X has a 4,500mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. It does not have wireless charging support. It comes with Dolby Atmos with dual speakers tuned by Harman Kardon.

The Xiaomi 12X comes in black, blue, and pink colors. It is priced at CNY 3,199 (37,490 INR) for the 8GB+128GB variant while the 12GB+256GB variant is priced at CNY 3,799 (44,511 INR).

It is available in China for now, we are not sure if the Xiaomi 12 or the Xiaomi 12X or the 12 Pro will come to India or the international market anytime soon.
