Xiaomi held a global launch event today where it revealed the highly-anticipated Xiaomi 12 Series along with the Xiaomi Watch S1, Watch S1 Active, and the Xiaomi Buds 3T Pro. The Xiaomi 12 Series comprises the Xiaomi 12, the Xiaomi 12 Pro, and the Xiaomi 12X.
The Xiaomi 12 models will go on sale immediately in Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. The global release in other regions could take a while.
The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro had launched in China in December and their specs are pretty much out in the open and we are pretty familiar with them. The new entrant is the Xiaomi 12X, the device comes with a Snapdragon 870 chip, which is also why it is priced lower than the other two devices in the lineup.
In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi 12 Pro begins at $1,000 or 76,417 INR for the 8GB+256GB variant, there is also a 12GB+256GB variant. The Xiaomi 12 is priced at $750 or 57,313 INR for the 8GB+128GB variant. It is priced slightly higher than the Xiaomi 11 which seems fair. The Xiaomi 12 is also available in an 8GB+256GB variant and 12GB+256GB option.
The Xiaomi 12X has a price tag of $650 or 49,671 INR for the base variant with an 8GB+128GB configuration. The higher variant comes with 256GB storage.
The Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, and 12X all come in three colors, Gray, Purple, and Blue. The Chinese versions got a special green leatherette color option but it appears to be restricted to only China. The Xiaomi 12 also comes with free YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium access for three months and will allow users to stream videos ad-free and download them for offline purposes as well.
The Xiaomi 12 Series can be purchased from AliExpress, the Xiaomi 12 carries an early bird price tag of $699 or 53,415 INR which is slightly lower than the official price, the 12X on the other hand begins at $449 or 34,311 INR for the 8GB+128GB version. The top Xiaomi 12 Pro is priced at $1000 on AliExpress.
