Xdinary Heroes Pulls The Plug On “THE X-TOWN” Fan Meeting Just Days After Gun-il’s Exit

Sometimes a group needs to pause before it can move forward — and that’s exactly what’s happening here. JYP Entertainment has officially canceled Xdinary Heroes’ third fan meeting, “THE X-TOWN,” just one day after confirming Gun-il’s departure from the group. The event was originally set to run over three nights, from September 18 to 20, at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seoul.

What JYP Entertainment Said

In a statement released on August 14 KST, the agency acknowledged fans’ concerns about the group’s future and confirmed it is actively reworking Xdinary Heroes’ activity schedule following discussions with the remaining members. The cancellation of “THE X-TOWN” was described as an “unavoidable decision” made after careful internal review.

Importantly, JYP clarified that this cancellation is limited to the fan meeting alone — all other planned group activities will continue as scheduled without disruption.

Xdinary: Overview

Why This Matters

Member departures often force agencies to reassess not just group dynamics but logistics — choreography, stage formations, and fan-facing events all need reworking when a lineup changes. JYP’s decision to cancel rather than postpone suggests the agency wants time to properly restructure Xdinary Heroes’ direction before bringing them back in front of fans.

Lineup changes are a recurring reality in the K-pop industry, where group structures and idol contracts function differently from typical Western band models — a distinction explored further in Wikipedia’s overview of the K-pop idol system and its industry practices.
