Xdinary Heroes Just Became a Five-Member Group — Here’s Why

Sudden lineup changes rarely come easy for K-pop fans, and this one landed with zero warning. JYP Entertainment confirmed that Xdinary Heroes member Gun-il is officially out of the group, closing a chapter fans weren’t expecting to end this way.

The Official Announcement

On August 13, JYP Entertainment released a statement confirming that following thorough discussions with Gun-il regarding recent concerns, the agency and artist mutually agreed to terminate his exclusive contract, ending his time with the group.

Key Details

What JYP Said

The agency thanked fans for their continued support of Xdinary Heroes and acknowledged the seriousness of the recent situation involving Gun-il, without detailing the specific issue publicly. JYP confirmed the decision was reached jointly with the artist and apologized for the sudden nature of the news, noting how much concern it may have caused fans.

What Happens to the Group Now

JYP confirmed Xdinary Heroes will continue promoting as a five-member group moving forward, with the agency pledging full support to help the remaining members focus on their music in a stable environment. This mirrors a pattern seen across the K-pop industry, where groups frequently continue as smaller units after a member’s exit, a structural flexibility that’s become common within the broader K-pop industry over the years.
