Its been months have seen every gamer is waiting to get their hands on the next-gen gaming consoles being launched by Sony and Microsoft. The consoles offer not only high-end hardware but also many exclusive titles and are waiting to be launched in November. But we now can see what the next-gen games and ray tracing will actually look like on the new Xbox Series X.

Thanks to Watch Dogs: Legion, we’re getting a first good look at the next-gen Xbox’s ray-tracing capabilities.

The game includes drones, self-driving cars, and lots of historical sites to explore, for gamers. As the setting is often wet and dark in Watch Dogs: Legion, the game also includes a lot of reflective puddles, shadows, and bright neon signs that are considered perfect for ray tracing technology. The Xbox Series X has enhanced the version of Watch Dogs: Legion and will include ray-traced reflections, an improved shadow quality, and even variable refresh rates.

On Xbox Series X upgraded version, the game runs at full 4K resolution, and a consistent 30fps with ray tracing enabled. Ubisoft, the developer company behind the game, is promising a “smooth, cinematic gameplay experience” on the Xbox Series X. The same ray tracing will be enabled on the Xbox Series S obviously at a lower resolution.

Watch Dogs: Legion offers excellent performance when played on an RTX 3090 with ultra settings and maxed out ray tracing at 1440p / 55fps. The Xbox Series X offers a decent performance of the games along with some pretty good ray-tracing effects. The optimized version of Watch Dogs: Legion will be available on November 10th which is the same day Microsoft launches its next-gen Xbox Series X and S consoles.
