Xavi Simons is set to return to RB Leipzig for the 24-25 season. The young attacking midfielder will re-join the club from PSG on a straight loan deal with no buy option. The medical tests have already been booked for him, and the move will soon be made official.

Bayern Munich and several Premier League clubs were interested in signing him this summer after a great performance in 23-24. However, he chose to return to Leipzig, and will spend a second season with the club.

In 23-24, Simons took the Bundesliga by storm as he scored 10 goals and provided 15 assists in 43 games across all competitions. The 21-year-old also earned a call-up to the Netherlands national team for Euro 2024, and scored his first goal in a competitive match for the national team in the semifinal against England.

It’ll be interesting to see how the youngster builds on his first season in Germany after returning. He has already been influential, and could raise his market value further by next summer.

And this could prompt PSG to sell him at a huge price if they can’t integrate him into their first team.

How many caps does Simons have for Netherlands?

20 caps in total
