Xavi Hernandez is expected to leave Qatari club Al-Sadd imminently. The player is reportedly on the way to becoming the next manager of Barcelona. The Blaugrana have currently appointed Sergi Barjuan as the interim manager of the first team. He is the manager of Barca B and his time with the first team will end when a permanent manager is announced.

According to sources in Qatar, it is only a matter of time before Xavi ends his tenure with Al-Sadd. His team are currently 34 games unbeaten in the Qatar Stars League. They are chasing the record of going 41 games unbeaten, which was set by Al-Duhail in 2018.

Xavi’s association with Al-Sadd goes back to 2015. He has won five titles as a player with them. He has been the coach of the club since 2019 and has won two titles with the Qatari club.

The manager’s contract runs until 2022, and he has a very personal relationship with the owners. However, they have maintained that they won’t be restricting him if he wants to leave for Barcelona.

During his time in Qatar, Xavi has managed to establish a clear style of play. He has an excellent understanding of the game, and plays possession-based football. This is something that Barcelona have always been associated with.

The pressure on Xavi will be huge if he gets the job. He will have to rebuild the team and push them to the heights he reached as a player. So, in a matter of weeks, we could be seeing the former midfielder back at Camp Nou.
