It has been an amazing start to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy tour as it was launched 120,000 feet above the earth before reaching the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Grand start to ICC Men’s World Cup Trophy tour

The stylish World Cup trophy was attached to a bespoke stratospheric balloon. The mesmerizing 4k cameras captured unbelievable shots of the famous silverware sitting on the edge of the earth’s atmosphere. The balloon crossed higher than 99.5% of the earth’s atmosphere at -65° C at the peak altitude.

With that space flight, the countdown to the 2023 ICC Men’s World Cup has started that is set to be held in India in October and November.

With various activation programs, the Trophy tour targets to provide one million fans the chance to associate with silverware before the super exciting global championship. It’ll visit locations in 18 countries across five continents.

Which locations will it visit?

Besides visiting 20 cities in India and other participating nations, the trophy will also tour several emerging nations like Bahrain, Kuwait, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, Uganda, Nigeria, Italy, France, and the United States, helping new and existing fans have a glimpse of the grand trophy.

Geoff Allardice, the ICC Chief Executive, said,

“The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour is a milestone in the countdown to what will be the biggest ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup ever. This Tour will see the iconic silverware meet heads of state, launch community initiatives, and support cricket development programs in addition to visiting some of the most iconic landmarks around the globe.

Cricket has more than a billion fans, and we want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to get up close to this famous trophy that has been held aloft by some of the greatest legends.
