Director Deepak Kumar Mishra Confirms Plans for Panchayat Seasons 4 and 5

“We have started writing Season 4. For us, generally there is no break between two seasons. The third season is over and we have written three to four episodes of the show,” said Mishra.

“So far, we have thought about making Season 4and 5. For Season 4, we have a clear idea, and there is a broader idea for Season 5,” added the director.

When the team embarked on the production of “Panchayat” season three, the director emphasized their intention to remain “uninfluenced by the popularity” of the preceding two seasons.

“We made sure that we made the right content and retained the core soul of the show. We wanted to take the story forward organically. However, we have to make sure that the new season is more entertaining and emotional,” he added.

Mishra reminisced about the uncertainty surrounding the audience reception when “Panchayat” season one debuted on streaming platforms in 2020.

“As the show was in a different space at that point of a time, there was a theory about how much will be its acceptability. We had put in a lot of effort in the script in terms of creative ideas.”

“So, we had that much confidence that if people watched the entire show, then it would be a hit. But what if they don’t watch it? Then, there would be a problem. I have grown up watching these kinds of stories and I was hopeful that people will definitely accept the show,” he said.

Currently, there is no official announcement regarding the release date. However, if we consider the release pattern of previous seasons, we can anticipate Season 4 to premiere on Amazon Prime around mid-2026, following a two-year hiatus. Panchayat Season 1 was released on April 3, 2020, and Season 2 on May 20, 2022. Given that Season 3 also followed a two-year gap, it’s likely that the upcoming seasons will follow the same schedule.

Chandan Roy, who plays Vikas in Panchayat Season 3, confirms audiences can expect until at least season 5 from Panchayat in the coming years.

Exploring Political Intrigue and Emotional Resonance In Panchayat Season 3

After a two-year wait, the arrival of Panchayat’s third chapter brings a whirlwind of emotions—surprise, amusement, dazzlement, and occasional faltering. This time around, Panchayat delves into the political landscape of rural India and the intricacies of bureaucracy, led by an outstanding cast including Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, and Raghubir Yadav. However, amidst its brilliance, it may leave some loose ends for the audience to ponder.

Crafted by Chandan Kumar and orchestrated by director Deepak Kumar Mishra, the show unfolds like a rollercoaster of feelings, evoking tears, laughter, numbness, nostalgia, and a sense of belonging to the characters’ simple yet adventurous lives.

The season commences with the transfer of sachiv ji, taking a brief 5-10 minutes to establish the setting before immersing the audience back into the world of Phulera. It navigates themes of grief, community support, and the significance of unity. True to its reputation, the show delivers on its promise of unexpected twists and turns, keeping the audience thoroughly engaged throughout.

In line with the political fervor surrounding the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the show delves into the intricate realm of village politics and grassroots corruption, all while maintaining its signature simple storytelling style.

Adding to the immersive experience is the evocative music composed by Anurag Saikia. The music aptly mirrors the mood of the storyline, with the title track seamlessly transitioning from instrumental to rock, and the background score perfectly complementing the emotional depth of the narrative. From the whistle that accompanies Sachiv Ji and Rinki’s interactions to the poignant track underscoring Amma’s assistance to Prahlad in cleaning his house, the sounds and melodies breathe life into the vibrant world of Phulera.
