In India, Apple begins producing the iPhone 14 at a Foxconn facility close to Chennai. As anticipated, the Cupertino-based tech giant has started this year’s iPhone model assembly far earlier than usual.

According to reports, Apple’s intention is to transfer 25% of the whole iPhone assembly line to India by 2025. By starting the production of the iPhone 14 in India earlier than planned, Apple has started the process of reaching the goal.

The locally produced iPhone 14 models would reportedly send from Foxconn’s Sriperumbudur facility, i.e. located on the outskirts of Chennai. PTI reports that Apple is ready to begin producing the newest iPhone model in India.

The business official statement states, “We’re pleased to start manufacturing iPhone 14 in India. According to the firm, “the new iPhone 14 series features game-changing new technologies and crucial safety capabilities.”

The iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and iPhone SE, among other iPhone models, for now, produced by Apple in India. The business collaborates with Wistron, Foxconn, and Pegatron to assemble iPhone models in the nation. The production-linked incentive (PLI) programme of the Indian government is the main driver behind the local manufacturing of the iPhone 14.

Apple will be able to save 20% on import duty by producing the iPhone 14 in India, which may have a subsequent impact on the model’s price, albeit there might not be any immediate modifications.

Apple rarely lowers its prices for a local market relative to its worldwide prices. Even iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 built locally, Apple didn’t formally lower the pricing of these devices. To offer discounts on third-party sites like Amazon and Flipkart, the company does collaborate with a few banks. However, nothing has been verified thus far.

As there is hardly any local procurement of components is a reason why local production may not have an impact on the price of the device. The cost of production consequently doesn’t actually decrease, even in the case of local manufacturing. Overall, it is possible that the price of the iPhone 14 won’t alter soon.
