What if the home you finally found came with one big catch? The upcoming Korean film While You’re Here follows a young couple chasing their dreams while life keeps throwing curveballs. New stills show Kim Hyang Gi and Ahn Dong Gu turning hard times into sweet, funny moments. If you enjoy a heartfelt romance film, this one may tug at your heartstrings.
While You’re Here: The Story
The film is a youthful survival romance about Hwa Ran (Kim Hyang Gi), an aspiring webtoon artist, and Yi Wan (Ahn Dong Gu), an aspiring rapper. The couple in their 20s have little except their love and their dreams. After a housing scam wipes out their rental deposit, they end up living in a basement two floors underground, with their home, money and future all uncertain.
What the Stills Show
The new images trace the couple’s journey, from their first meeting to losing the deposit and hunting for a new place. Even in tough moments, the two find ways to laugh together, which highlights both the sweetness of their bond and the struggles of young adulthood. Their house-hunting, which takes them from one property to the next, also reflects the real challenge many young people face in finding a home of their own.
When friend Kyung Tae (Giriboy) steps in to help, and real estate agent Ahn Da Jeong (Jung Yi Rang) joins the search, they finally find a place. The twist is that it’s also two floors underground. Having believed a new home would fix everything, the couple now faces a fresh challenge in building their life there.
