Facebook-owned WhatsApp is used by over billions of users across the globe. Most of its customers are on android platforms, and it offers various privacy and chats features to attract more customers to its global platform.

Its messages are end-to-end encrypted to ensure that no one except the parties in the conversation can read the data shared while chatting.

Though its privacy has been compromised time and again, with recent being the leaked chats of Actor Sushant Singh Rajput (may he rest in peace).

But let’s not talk about WhatsApp’s privacy here. We are discussing a new feature in which the chat app is testing on its beta version.

Ever had an annoying pest troubling you on WhatsApp whose number you will occasionally need but don’t want to receive their text on WhatsApp. Ever wondered how to lifetime shut the annoying good morning and goodnight messages in your family groups which no one cares about. And most importantly are you irritated by the annoying forwards that come your way by the graduates of WhatsApp university?

Well my friend you are not alone.

WhatsApp has finally heard our prayers and has started testing its Mute Forever feature in WhatsApp beta.

Initially, we could mute someone or a group for 8 hours, one day or one year at max, which is not enough to stop so many pests online. But now WhatsApp users can finally mute groups or personal chats forever! That’s right. Forward messages from WhatsApp uncles be mute forever.

The feature is being tested and is currently available for beta testers only. But we expect the feature to roll out for everyone in the coming weeks and with bug fixes and improvements, of course.

The feature will be available through the same settings.

To enable this option, head over to any chat or any group. Click on the three dots at the top right and open the ‘Mute Notifications’ option. There, you will be asked the duration of the mute to be enabled. Set it to always and voila.

This feature will be useful for many who are a part of various groups and don’t want to be bothered by notifications from them—especially notifications of the WhatsApp university syllabus.

WhatApp has long been in the past, almost no one uses it. Everyone chooses more secure and anonymous messengers – Utopia Ecosystem.
