What makes the new OnePlus Open better than any other foldable?

Yes, finally the OnePlus Open has been launched in India for ₹1,39,999 and it has taken apart the entire audience because of its uniqueness including its 120Hz displays or new 48MP SONY LYT-T800 sensor, there are a lot of reasons that people have been amazed at this new device.

While I was able to spend some brief time with this one, I could strongly sense why OnePlus is so confident about this one and why people will flock to this foldable phone. So, here are some of the strong reasons that make the OnePlus Open better than the competition:

Here are some reasons why this might be the best foldable yet:

A Foldable Display with no crease

OnePlus has taken all its time to make its display one of the industry’s best, calling it dual ProXDR displays with amazing brightness and color accuracy. Now, for a foldable, the bigger inside display is the point of concern and to minimize the crease that looks the worst on a foldable, OnePlus has introduced this Flexion hinge mechanism that actually makes this OnePlus Open look as if there is no crease at all.

I was truly shocked seeing this myself and both the displays looked stunning, from watching content to multitasking or even using the outer display for quick day-to-day stuff, the OnePlus Open truly nails down when it comes to display.

Lighter Yet Durable

The biggest concern of having a foldable is its complicated design that adds unnecessary weight to the device, during the launch, OnePlus clearly stressed the fact that they have reduced the weight considerably. I did notice that holding this one in your hands is very comfortable and you can easily use it with one hand but yes you will need another to open the foldable.

Improved Cameras

OnePlus has significantly improved the camera capabilities of the OnePlus Open which now comes with this new 48MP SONY LYT-T800 “Pixel Stacked” sensor and a 64MP telephoto sensor with 3X Optical Zoom and 6X in-sensor zoom. When I opened the camera app on the OnePlus Open, I immediately noticed a major difference in the camera quality and it was zooming up to 120x comfortably with almost no noise. Though you will have to wait for the full review, however, the camera is a major improvement here.

Performance and OS

The new OnePlus Open is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is still a powerful choice and being paired with 16GB DDR5 RAM and 512GB storage, you will enjoy a seamless everyday experience. In my brief usage, I didn’t notice any lag or stutter and from the animation to the OS, everything looked smooth as well as crisp. The OxygenOS 13.2, on there other hand, has been made for the OnePlus Open itself to make use of the bigger display thanks to features like dual split screen, fast focus drag & drop and more.

Overall, the new OnePlus Open has made it clear that it will make a name for itself in the foldable industry and I am glad that OnePlus has clearly innovated and thought about the product before jumping into the industry.
