Western Digital unveiled new SanDisk Professional products on Wednesday, including the SanDisk Professional Pro G-40 SSD, G-RAID Shuttle SSD, G-Drive enterprise-class desktop hard drive, and Pro-Dock 4 reader docking station.
In a statement, Western Digital stated that these SanDisk products are focused on providing “high-performance, scalable, and reliable solutions” for today’s innovators. It went on to say that these devices will help manage production assets effectively and reliably at every stage of production, from capturing and transferring to editing and archiving.
According to Western Digital, a typical new age content creator makes 350GB of content per month, whereas a typical Bollywood film takes 200-300TB of storage.
“Our newly introduced SanDisk Professional brand enables content creators and professionals to ‘Create the Incredible’. SanDisk Professional offers a range of purpose-built storage solutions to harmonize every step of that process,” said Jaganathan Chelliah, Senior Director-Marketing, India Middle East and TIA, Western Digital.
The SanDisk Professional Pro-G40 SSD has an IP-68 rating and stated read speeds of 2700MB/s and 1900MB/s, as well as the Thunderbolt 3 interface and USB 3.2. It costs Rs 34999 in India and comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
The SanDisk Professional G-RAID Shuttle SSD features Thunderbolt 3 and USB Type-C connectivity, 32TB of storage, and transfer rates of up to 2800MB/s. In India, the smartphone starts at Rs 3,99,999 and comes with a 5-year limited guarantee.
The SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE hard drive is available in capacities of 4TB, 6TB, 12TB, 18TB, and 22TB. Using the USB-C connector, the gadget is said to deliver transfer speeds of up to 280MB/s (read) and 280MB/s (write). Its price starts at Rs 19,999 and comes with a 3-year limited warranty.
The SanDisk Professional PRO-DOCK 4 includes a 4-bay reader docking station as well as Thunderbolt support. It is now available in India for Rs 34,999 with a 3-year limited warranty.
