We might see a Larger Redesigned High-End iMac Next Year

According to the leaker known as “Dylandkt“, Apple might launch a larger redesigned iMac in 2022. Dylandkt tweeted a claim that Apple’s “high-end ‌iMac‌” might not release in the previously expected 4th quarter of 2021. Apple is about to launch its redesigned MacBook Pro models in the 4th quarter. According to Dylandkt, “Apple simply does not want their devices to compete for attention and delays in product releases have led to this timetable.”

Other claims

Dylandkt also claimed previously that high-end “Pro” Macs will without a doubt have an “M1X” Apple silicon processor. These could include the redesigned MacBook Pro models and the new ‌iMac‌ model. The 14-inch and 16-inch Apple MacBook Pros could be released nearly between September and November. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman expressed that he too expects the larger redesigned ‌iMac‌ to feature an M1X or M2X chip.

An iMac overview

Apple is rumored to be developing a larger version of the ‌iMac‌ for a while now. But the launch of the 24-inch ‌iMac‌ model this year might have hit a pause on the former’s developments. If the new ‌iMac‌ does pack an M1X or M2X chip, it’s got to be a more powerful version of the M1 chip powering the 24-inch ‌iMac‌. Apple will be discontinuing the 27-inch Intel models launched in August 2020. This strongly sides with Dylandkt’s claims. Several changes debuted in the latest 24-inch model could be imitated by the new iMac. These include a thinner overall design, studio-quality microphones, and a more powerful Apple silicon processor.

How dependable is @Dylandkt?

In the past, Dylandkt has predicted several of Apple’s recent product launches correctly. He had already claimed that the next-generation iPad Pro would pack in an ‌M1‌ chip, 5 months ahead of the official unveiling. Dylandkt also correctly predicted another one of Apple’s recent products: the 24-inch ‌‌iMac‌‌. He has claimed that the redesigned ‌‌iMac‌‌ would replace the smaller entry-level ‌‌iMac‌‌ only. He also predicted that it will feature an ‌‌M1‌‌ chip instead of an M1X, before the launch of the 24-inch ‌‌iMac‌‌.
