TikTok is currently in a critical situation as most of the countries around the globe are pressurizing it and that because of the alleged tie-ups with the Chinese Government. Though the app authority always denies these allegations, no doubt to bring itself in a safe side. Recently the parent company of TikTok, ByteDance publishes a statement that raised the controversy.
Yesterday(2nd August), ByteDance published the statement via its own news application. As per the statement, “ByteDance has always been committed to becoming a global company. During this process, we have faced all kinds of complex and unimaginable difficulties, including the tense international political environment, collision and conflict of different cultures and plagiarism and smears from competitor Facebook”.
It’s not clear whether the company is talking about the TikTok clone Lasso or the Instagram Reels.
The Indian Government already banned TikTok, at the end of June, along with 58 other Chinese apps. Later, a few days back, more 47 apps get banned. Now, the US Government also on its way to do the same. Though Microsoft may take over the US operation of TikTok, it’s not finalized yet. If the deal successfully finalizes in the coming days, the video making app will run there atleast.
