Vivo is gearing up to launch its Vivo X70 series smartphones soon. The series will include the VivoX70, Vivo X70 Pro and Vivo X70 Pro Plus. The new Vivo flagship phones will debut on September 9 in China, followed by a global launch.
Previously, the company had confirmed that the flagship devices will launch globally on September 10. However, it looks like Vivo has changed the date of the global launch. The latest development reveals that the Vivo premium phones will launch on September 13.
Vivo X70 Series Global launch
The flagship phones from Vivo will now launch on September 13. Unlike its’ previous global launch on September 10, which is a day after the China launch event. The reason behind the global event postponing remains unknown. Although we can expect the devices to launch in India during IPL 2021, which starts on September 19.
The official website teaser also confirms the Vivo X70 series global variants will come with Origin OS. It will feature kinetic wallpapers and the teaser images also show the Vivo X70Pro+ camera module. Earlier leaks are suggesting that they can come with Zeiss optics and Gimbal-like stabilization. Whereas, the Pro variants will have T*. It is a special type of lens coating that eliminates the glare from stray light.
Some other details of the device were leaked too. It will have a 6.56-inch curved AMOLED Full HD+ display, a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC, up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal memory. It will have a 4,380 mAh battery with 55W fast charging support.
Moreover, the Vivo X70 Pro+ will have a quad-camera setup on the back, arranged in an L-shape, including a periscope telephoto unit. The Vivo X70 Pro+ will be available in Orange and Black colours, with the former having a faux leather finish. The top-end model in the series, the X70 Pro+, is said to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC.
Details of the vanilla X70 have leaked as well. It will have a 6.56-inch flat display and come with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. It will also probably have an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. The phone is likely to run Android 11 OS out of the box.
The triple camera setup on the X70 is tipped to include a 40MP primary sensor, a 12MP secondary sensor, and another 12MP sensor. Ahead of the launch, the Vivo X70 series have visited BIS and NBTC websites. According to the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, the listed smartphones have model numbers V2105 and V2114. The X70, along with the X70 Pro, is listed on the NBTC website. Whereas, the Vivo X70 has the model number V2104.
