Vivo looks set to release a follow up to its first foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold. The newer model – likely called Vivo X Fold Plus – has landed on TENAA, suggesting a launch is imminent. The Vivo X Fold Plus launch date is currently unknown.
The listing on TENAA has revealed the design of the upcoming foldable phone from Vivo. The images reveal the design from all angles. Let’s take a look at the X Fold Plus specifications, features and other details known so far.
Vivo X Fold Plus
The X Fold Plus will come with an 8.03-inch foldable display on the inside. It will have a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will also have a 6.53-inch AMOLED display, which will be the outer panel, having an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is expected to double up as an in-display fingerprint scanner for security.
A vertical strip runs below the camera module for the Vivo branding. On the sides, we see an alert slider, a power button and the volume rocker. The right side of the foldable display has a centrally aligned hole-punch cutout. On the outside, the curved cover screen has a hole-punch cutout as well.
It will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which will be an upgrade over the predecessor’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The device was spotted with a 4,600mAh dual-cell battery on the TENAA certification. The listing reportedly suggests that the handset will pack a 2,300mAh + 2,300mAh dual-cell battery. It will run Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12 out-of-the-box, as per the report.
There is a camera island on the back, which houses a circular camera module. The foldable phone has a quad-camera setup on the back. There is also the Zeiss branding at the top right corner, further confirming the company’s partnership. In addition to this, there is an LED flash at the bottom right corner of the island.
Vivo X Fold Plus will be the second foldable phone from the company. The phone is likely to launch in global markets after its Chinese launch. The Vivo X Fold Plus launch date is currently unknown. However, we can expect the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 rival to launch in the coming weeks.
