Vivo X Fold 5 with SD 8 Gen 3, 6000mAh Battery Launching June 25

Vivo has been gradually revealing details about its upcoming foldable, the Vivo X Fold 5, ahead of its official launch in China. Though there have been a lot of teasers about several key features, the chipset was an unknown—until now. The upcoming Vivo device, likely the X Fold 5, has done a round of Geekbench to reveal the chip and some other specifications.

The model number of the device is listed as V2436A while the device is currently running on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, going by the information on the CPU and the GPU on the benchmark listing. This is the same chip found in last year’s China-only Vivo X Fold 3. And despite the competition like the Oppo Find N5 and Honor Magic V5 using a new 8 Gen 3 Elite variant, Vivo has gone for the vanilla Gen 3 chip — perhaps aiming for a more accessible price point.

According to the listing, the phone features 16GB of RAM and runs on Android 15. It scored 2,270 points in the single-core test and 6,913 points in the multi-core test. The Vivo X Fold 5 is scheduled to launch in China on June 25.

It will house a massive 6,000mAh battery yet maintain a sleek design, measuring just 4.3mm when unfolded. The phone will be available in Pine Green, White, and Titanium and come with an IP59+ rating, making it dust- and water-resistant, and functional at temperatures as low as -20°C.

Photography will be a highlight, with a 50MP periscope telephoto camera offering long-range zoom and macro capabilities. Uniquely, Vivo claims the X Fold 5 is the first Android phone to connect seamlessly with Apple devices—including iPhone calls, messages, AirPods, iCloud, and Apple Watch—along with cross-device file transfer and productivity tools with Mac, enhancing the experience for hybrid users.
