Vivo X Fold 5 Launching June 25 with Lighter Design, iCloud Sync

Vivo has officially confirmed that the Vivo X Fold 5 will debut in China on June 25 at 7 PM local time (4:30 PM IST). The company has also teased the design, colors, and key features of the foldable ahead of the launch. This new model will be lighter and slimmer than the Vivo X Fold 3, which came at 219 grams, and the folded thickness was 10.2mm.

The Vivo X Fold 5 will have 8T LTPO panels and both the main and cover displays. The panels on offer offer high-frequency PWM dimming and Zeiss Master colour calibration for exacting visuals. Vivo says the phone will also be rated IP5X and IPX9+ for dust and water resistance. The design, showcased via the official landing page, reveals a flat cover screen with slim bezels and a centered punch-hole camera. The back panel houses a large circular camera module with three sensors, an LED flash, and Zeiss branding.

The phone will be available in green, titanium, and white colour options. Pre-orders are currently open on Vivo’s official China website. Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao made a surprising announcement, stating that the X Fold 5 will be the first Android phone to directly connect to Apple iCloud, allowing access to iCloud files via the file manager. It can also sync in real-time with an iPhone and serve as an extended display for MacBooks, along with supporting AirPods pairing.

Camera-wise, the Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to feature three 50MP rear cameras and two 32MP front cameras—one on each display. It’s tipped to weigh around 209g, be 4.3mm thick when unfolded and 8.7mm when folded, and pack a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Battery capacity is said to be 6,000mAh, with support for 90W wired and 30W wireless charging.
