Vivo X Fold 4 Teased on TENAA: Promises Massive 6,500mAh Battery and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chipset

Vivo has recently announced its flagship X200 series in China, and now we have exclusive details on the possibility of it launching in India. On the other hand, Vivo seems to be gearing up to announce its under-development foldable smartphone dubbed Vivo X Fold 4; which recently appeared on a TENAA certification site. In all likelihood, that device the Vivo X Fold 4 with a model number V2429A has now been registered with China’s TENAA certification agency. It has to be noted that the name is not officially confirmed, but as per the IMEI database, it lists X Fold 4 with model number V2429 number and thus hints that V2429A could well be a derivative of this model.

While the TENAA certification does not provide extensive specifications, it has revealed important battery details. The capacity is listed as “batteryRatedCapacityIn”: “6365mAh,” suggesting that the upcoming foldable could feature a typical battery rating of approximately 6,500mAh, which would be the largest in a foldable device to date. For comparison, the Vivo X Fold 3 had a 5,500mAh battery, indicating an increase of nearly 15 percent.

Possibly the design could become a bit thicker but with powering through more battery there is speculation of how Vivo will be able to solve this design hurdle. Furthermore, the certification also reveals that it supports Satellite System Navigation (GLONASS) and Dual SIM 5G capabilities as well as runs on Android 15 out of the box.

The smartphone is expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a step up from the previous model which was built around Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. At the moment, no further details about this collaboration are known; updates will be provided as the launch date approaches. Vivo X Fold 3 was introduced on March 26 indicating that we are still a while away from the official debut of Vivo X Fold 4.
