Vivo X Fold 3 Pro vs OnePlus Open: A Quick Comparison

Foldable devices are the flavor of the month right now in the smartphone market, and two chances (i.e. rumors) that have come to our notice off late include the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and the OnePlus Open. Overall the bottom line comparison of their features is given below:

Design and Build

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro opens to a size of 160 x 142.4 x 5.2mm in addition to the fold, with IPX8 waterproofing and capacitive carbon fiber breaks weighing just about 236g. OnePlus Open, on the other hand, measures when unfolded to 153.4 x 73.3 x 11.7 mm; fold size: 153.4 x 143.1 x 5.8 mm. It has a glass front with a Ceramic Guard when folded. It weighs between 239g to 245g.

Display

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro has an 8.03-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 2200 x 2480 pixels and uses a cover display of around six inches. Peak brightness of 4500 nits. It supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Meanwhile, it is offered by the OnePlus Open with a foldable 7.82-inch LTPO3 Flexi-fluid AMOLED display that supports a resolution of 2268 x 2440 pixels. It features 2800 nits peak brightness at 2% window level and comes with Dolby Vision, HDR10+ compliant.

Performance

Powering this folding smartphone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. The phone comes with Android 14 along with OriginOS 4 on top which should offer a smooth performance. The OnePlus Open uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 16GB of RAM and however, has an internal data storage at 512GB. It is working on Android 13 (upgradable up to Android 14) with OxygenOS 14.

Camera

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is equipped with a triple camera comprising a 50MP wide, 64MP periscope telephoto, and 50 MP ultrawide lens for superior photography capabilities. The OnePlus Open carries a triple camera unit at the back that includes a 48MP wide lens, another one with a 64MP telephoto lens, and lastly has a 48MP ultrawide sensor, also having Hasselblad Color Calibration.

Battery

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is equipped with a 5700mAh battery and supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. It also offers reverse wireless charging. In comparison, the OnePlus Open packs a 4805mAh battery and supports 67W wired charging.
