Vivo’s popular V series is getting a significant upgrade this month with the launch of the Vivo V40 Series. It is the first V series lineup to get Zeiss co-engineered cameras on both regular and Pro variants. The Upcoming Vivo V40 Series
Vivo V40 Series will Launch this Week in India Vivo is set to host an event on August 7 at noon live streaming its official YouTube channel. They will go on sale later this month, with pre-orders opening shortly after the reveal.
The Vivo V30 was priced at ₹33,999 for the base 8/128GB variant. The new Vivo V40, featuring a Zeiss co-engineered camera system, is anticipated to be priced between ₹35,000 and ₹40,000. Meanwhile, the Vivo V40 Pro is expected to be priced above ₹40,000, similar to its predecessor, which started at ₹41,999 for the 8/256GB variant.
The design of both phones in the Vivo V40 Series will largely remain identical with a new camera bump and an overall thickness is 7.58mm. Vivo V40 Pro will be present in Titanium Gray and Ganges Blue, but the Vivo V40 goes even further with three colors. So for people who are fed up with black or white phones, there is a new finish called Lotus Purple too on it.
The front of the series will be curved glass on a plastic frame. It will be Vivo’s first V-series handset to have IP68 water and dust resistance. The Vivo V40 Pro will feature a large 5,500 mAh battery as well.
Vivo has shared camera details for the Vivo V40 Pro, which will feature four 50MP sensors: a 50MP IMX921 main camera with OIS, a 50MP IMX816 telephoto lens, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP front camera with a 92-degree FOV. The telephoto lens will support 2X optical zoom and up to 50X digital zoom. The camera system, co-engineered with ZEISS, includes five portrait modes with focal lengths ranging from 24mm to 100mm.
The global variant specs include a 6.78-inch 1.5K 120Hz Curved AMOLED display. The V40 gets the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, and the Pro uses Dimensity 9200+. The two phones have the same main and ultrawide 50MP cameras, with a V40 Pro adding an additional telephoto sensor of 50 MP. Both come with a selfie camera measuring 50MP. Vivo V40 has a battery of 5,000mAh and the Vivo V40 Pro packs a larger cell at 5,500mAh each supporting an identical ultra-fast charging speed up to 80W. The device also boasts an Aura Light flash, IP68 rating, and stereo speakers.
