Vivo has introduced the V40 SE 5G alongside its foldable flagships, the X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro. However, unlike its more expensive counterparts the Vivo V40 SE is aimed at the mid-range market segment. The official price for the Vivo V40 SE has not yet been revealed by Vivo. Currently available in European markets the product listing suggests that this phone will be the designated smartphone for Euro 2024.
The All New Vivo V40 SE 5G
The Vivo V40 SE 5G features a 6.67-inch Ultra Vision AMOLED Display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels offering a 120Hz refresh rate and a brightness of up to 1200 nits. It can reach up to 1,800 nits for HDR content ensuring visibility under bright outdoor conditions. The display supports the DCI P3 color gamut providing colors. In terms of dimensions, it measures 158.3 x 73.1 x 7.79 mm and weighs 185.5g.
Driving the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, which though not top tier is expected to handle daily tasks and light gaming smoothly. The phone comes with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage that can be expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card. It runs on Funtouch OS14 based on the latest Android 14 out of the box.
At the back, there’s a triple camera setup consisting of a sensor an 8MP wide sensor, and a 2MP auxiliary sensor. Taking selfies is made easy with the V40 SE’s 16MP camera. The phone comes with a battery that supports fast charging up to 44W allowing you to charge it up to 50% in approximately 24.5 minutes. It also includes Smart Charging Engine 2.0 and Overnight Charging Protection, for battery durability and safety measures.
Available in Crystal Black with a composite plastic back and Leather Purple with a vegan leather back, both variants feature an in-display fingerprint sensor and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
