Vivo V20 Pro 5G vs Vivo V21 5G: Specs, Features and Price Comparison

Vivo has launched the new model Vivo V21 5G which is the successor of the previous Vivo V20 Pro 5G. The latter was the mid-range 5G smartphone and the first from the brand in this price range. The prior one has been launched currently with some modified specifications and revised camera features. As Vivo is a design and camera-specific brand it has focused more on both aspects other than the rest. So let’s compare how these two device fares against each other.

Display

The Vivo V20 Pro 5G and Vivo V21 5G flaunts the same 6.44-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display. They have the same screen resolution of 1080 x 2404 pixels. Both have a bezel-less display but the latter comes with a waterdrop notch. The refresh rate of the previous model is 60 Hz but the newer version has a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

Camera

Both smartphones host a triple rear camera setup which includes a 64 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP wide-angle lens, and a 2 MP macro shooter. There is a significant difference in the selfie camera as the Vivo V20 Pro has a dual front camera with a 44 MP primary sensor and an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The Vivo V21 backs only a single 44 MP lens at the front. But it does give you a dual-LED option. The biggest difference between the two mobiles is the presence of the OIS system with the Vivo V21 model’s rear camera.

Processor and Storage

Vivo V21 is powered with the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U mobile processor whereas the Vivo V20 Pro 5G is powered with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset.

Vivo V20 Pro 5G had only one variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Whereas, the Vivo V21 5G has only one 8GB RAM options and two internal storage options of 128GB and 256GB.

Battery and Charging

The Vivo V21 5G and Vivo V20 Pro 5G house the same 4,000 mAh battery cell and are paired with a 33W FlashCharge fast charging support.

Price

The Vivo V20 Pro 5G is priced at Rs 29,990 for its 8 GB RAM and 128 GB variant. The Vivo V21 5G is offered in two variants: the 8 GB RAM and 128 GB cost Rs 29,990 and the 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage cost Rs 32,990.

Our Thoughts

The difference between the two devices is minuscule. Both have robust battery specifications and processors. But when it comes to displays and camera features, the Vivo V21 5G does edge out its predecessor Vivo V20 Pro 5G. The waterdrop notch and higher refresh rate help the Vivo V21. Also, as said before, the OIS system takes the newly launched model ahead of the previous one.
