The official launch date for the Vivo S18 series in China has been announced. Last week, Vivo had confirmed the impending launch of the S18 series in China without specifying a date, but now it has been revealed. The series includes the Vivo S18, Vivo S18 Pro, and Vivo S18e, which will globally debut as the Vivo V30 or Vivo V31 series. The launch event in China is scheduled for December 14, 2023, at 02:00 pm local time or 04:30 pm IST.
The Upcoming Vivo S18 Series
Accompanying the Vivo S18 series, the unveiling of the Vivo TWS 3e is also anticipated. Teasers for the S18 series have been featured on Vivo’s official Weibo channel, and an official event page for the device has gone live on Vivo’s website in China.
Key details about the Vivo S18 series have been confirmed on the website. The standard Vivo S18 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC and will house a 5,000 mAh battery. Color options for the S18 include Clear (Blue), Flowers Are Blooming (White), and Black.
In contrast, the Vivo S18 Pro will utilize the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset and boast the same VCS main camera as the Vivo X100—a 50 MP Sony IMX920 primary sensor with a 1/1.49″ sensor size and an f/1.57 aperture. Both the S18 and S18 Pro main cameras will feature OIS support and share a similar design, featuring a curved OLED display and a triple-camera setup on the back within a squared-shaped camera island. The devices will showcase a new squarish Aura light compared to the past ring Aura lights.
The Vivo S18 Pro is expected to feature a powerful triple-camera setup with a “main + ultrawide + telephoto” configuration. Details about the Vivo S18e are still undisclosed, but it has been confirmed that the device will boast a 4,800 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. The S18e will feature a slim design, measuring just 7.69mm thick, and will opt for a flat OLED screen instead of the curved display seen on the S18 and S18 Pro. The S18e will also sport a dual-camera setup on the back housed in a circular camera island.
