Vivo introduces OriginOS 4, Upcoming Vivo X100 Series in China and iQOO 12 in India

Vivo has introduced OriginOS 4, powered by Android 14, in its latest smartphones, following last month’s Funtouch OS 14 launch in India for Vivo and iQOO devices.

Availability and Rollout

OriginOS 4 will come pre-installed on the upcoming vivo X100 series and iQOO 12. Public testing will commence in batches, with various Vivo and iQOO models receiving the update by the end of January 2024.

The device will run on Origin OS 4.0 based on Android 14 and boasts a 50MP primary rear camera with a Sony IMX 989 sensor, 64MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP wide-angle lens. The front camera is expected to be 32MP. The device will have a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging, along with features like an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, dual stereo speakers, and an IP68 rating.

The Vivo X100 Pro+ is expected to feature a larger 6.68-inch OLED display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It may come with 12GB/16GB/24GB RAM options and storage variants of 256GB/512GB/1TB. The rear camera setup will include a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 200MP periscope lens. The front camera is anticipated to be 32 MP. Similar to the X100 Pro, it will feature a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and an IP68 rating.

The Upcoming iQOO 12 Expected Specs and Pricing

iQOO has officially announced the India launch date for iQOO 12, set for December 12. The company has confirmed the design of the phone, which aligns with previously leaked images. The iQOO 12 will debut in China on November 7, providing an early look at the device. Here’s a summary of what we know from official information and leaks.

The device will be available in white, featuring a glass back panel and a square rear camera module instead of the rectangular one seen on previous models. It boasts a triple rear camera system capable of 100x digital zoom, with the telephoto lens supporting 3x optical zoom.

Leaked information suggests the iQOO 12 could feature an AMOLED display with 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it’s expected to include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner for convenient unlocking even with wet fingers. The device’s triple rear camera setup might comprise a 50-megapixel Omnivision OV50H sensor, a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens featuring the ISOCELL JN1 sensor, and a 64-megapixel sensor with 3X optical zoom.
