Vivo opens OriginOS Beta registration for five smartphones

Vivo officially announced its new custom skin named OriginOS, last month, that runs on top of Android. Now, Vivo’s target to switch its devices from the earlier Funtouch OS to the new OriginOS. After the launch, Vivo also published the device list and a time table to push the update. Now, 5 smartphones are open to register for the Beta program.

As per the list published by Vivo, there are around 30 smartphones either under Vivo or iQOO branding that are eligible to register for the beta. Point to note, all these betas will roll out within China according to the table. The stable update may come after the second quarter of 2021. Here are the five smartphones –

If you have any of these five handsets and want to participate in the beta testing, the window is open now, and remain the same till 10th December. The most important thing you need to know is there are only 200 slots for each smartphone. The OEM will start rolling out the betas to these smartphones from 15th December and onwards.

Seeing all these activities, it’s confirmed that the stable release of OriginOS for the upper mentioned smartphones may start in January 2021 at the earliest. As I mentioned earlier, all these programs are limited in China only. Vivo has yet to announce the OriginOS for the global market and also to release the distribution roadmap.
