Virat Kohli’s man of the match 92 from 47 balls against PBKS helped him achieve a unique record. The star batter has now scored over 600 runs in four seasons of the IPL, something only KL Rahul has done alongside him.
The other players close to the tally are David Warner and Chris Gayle, with the latter now retired from the sport. Kohli currently leads the race for the orange cap with 634 runs in 12 matches, and has helped RCB to a newfound winning run, ensuring that they climb out of the bottom of the table.

The only player close to Virat Kohli’s numbers for the top scorer award in the IPL this season is Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad with 541 runs from 12 innings.
RCB’s last two games of the season are against Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings, and both of them are must-win if they are to make it to the playoffs this season. They are currently on seventh, two points behind CSK, LSG and DC.
Winning both the matches will almost guarantee them a spot in the playoffs, provided results elsewhere are favourable too. And Virat Kohli will have to ensure that he steps up and displays the same consistency he has shown throughout the season to guide his team to the business end of the tournament.
