Virat Kohli named ICC ODI and Test player of the Year, Rishabh Pant honoured with Emerging Player of the Year award.

Virat Kohli has been named Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year, Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year and also won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year in addition to being captain of the ODI and Test teams of the year.

In the 47 innings that Virat Kohli played across formats in 2018, Kohli scored 2,735 runs at an average of 68.37. He also had 11 centuries and nine fifties to his name in the year and was the highest run scorer in India’s tours of South Africa and England. Indian captain Virat Kohli dominated the ICC Awards that were declared on Tuesday.

Virat Kohli scored 1,322 runs at an average of 55.08 in 13 Tests with five hundreds during the calendar year while in 14 ODIs he amassed 1202 runs at an astonishing average of 133.55 with six centuries. He also scored 211 runs in 10 T20Is.


Rishabh Pant became the first Indian wicket-keeper to score a Test century in Australia.

The 21-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman scored 350 runs in the four-match Test series that India won 2-1 to script history in 71 years. With an unbeaten 159-run knock in the fourth Test in Sydney. Earlier, he equalled the record for the most catches taken in a Test with 11 against Australia in Adelaide in December.

Rishabh Pant scored 537 runs with a century and two fifties in eight Tests in 2018. Pant claimed 40 catches and two stumpings in the year. The young batsman scored 41 runs and took three catches in three ODIs, while he made 114 runs and grabbed two catches in eight T20Is.
