Virat Kohli and new records are always related to each other. He has made a new record in their match against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 on Tuesday.

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli put a new feather in his cap. The Indian Captain is the first Indian cricketer to amass 9000 runs in T20 cricket.

He is the 7th player in the world to achieve this feat after Chris Gayle (West Indies – 13296 runs), Kieron Pollard (WI – 10370), Shoaib Malik (Pakistan – 9926), Brendon McCullum (New Zealand – 9922), David Warner (Australia – 9451) and Aaron Finch (Australia – 9148).

Mumbai Indians Captain Rohit Sharma was not far behind. Rohit has scored 8818 in T20s and Raina is 3rd Indian in the list with 8392 runs.

Kohli made his T20 debut in 2007. It was Kohli’s 197th match for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kohli has scored 5969 runs at an average of 37.77 and a strike rate of 132 in his long career with RCB. He also scored 5 centuries including 39 fifties.

RCB was beaten by Delhi Capitals in the same match where their captain achieved the new feat. RCB won the toss and elected to bowl first.

But his plan didn’t quite work well as his team cannot chase a big total of 197 set by Delhi Capitals and lost by 59 runs.
