Vodafone Idea (Vi) has officially launched its 5G services in Bengaluru, bringing high-speed mobile connectivity to one of India’s most digitally advanced cities. The rollout that starts Wednesday is part of Vi’s phased 5G expansion in 17 of its priority circles, with a target of completing the deployment in August 2025.

To support Bengaluru’s large base of tech-savvy users, Vi has partnered with Samsung to deploy advanced and energy-efficient 5G infrastructure. The operator has also implemented AI-powered Self-Organising Networks (SON), which automatically adjust network performance in real-time to ensure optimal connectivity and user experience. This launch marks another step forward in Vi’s nationwide 5G rollout strategy.
Last month, the telecom provider kicked off services in the Delhi-NCR region, highlighting its focus on covering all major metro cities before expanding to Tier-2 locations. With a presence now in several high-priority zones, Vi is steadily progressing toward its target of covering all 17 circles where it holds 5G spectrum.
