The professional eSports scenario of Valorant is increasing day-by-day throughout the world. Now, the representatives of ‘Riot Games’ has announced that they are planning for a competitive tournament of Valorant, that will decide the best in the world, but before that, the teams will have to play regional competitions. Riot has named it “Valorant Champions Tour”.
Still, now no official dates of the competition have been announced. The competition will be for three tires. First, the teams will have to play regional “Challengers” events, then after qualifying this they will have to play the “Masters” competition, which will be a qualifying round for the final global championship event where 16 teams will compete for the best spot. Riot declared that the tournament is held for Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, and Australia.
We have seen the same system previously for Riot’s League of Legends. This contains professional leagues throughout various regions and those teams who win these leagues qualifies for the prestigious World Championship at the end of the year.
Whalen Rozelle, Riot’s senior director of eSports said, “We’ve spent a couple of years now talking to players, teams, fans, prospective partners, and other stakeholders, and we’re extremely excited to launch our first official season. Our focus will be on elevating and showcasing the creative and talented players who are shaping this game across the globe.”
Valorant is not only about fine aim, here you have to master the abilities of different agents. You can say Valorant is a combination of Counter-Strike (focused on tactical shooting) and Overwatch (focused on different characters with abilities). Riot is going to arrange its first event from December 3rd-8th, with the First Strike tournament, where eight teams will compete for a $100,000 prize pool.
