In an era dominated by A-list superstar vehicles, Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros. has pulled off something extraordinary. The coming-of-age comedy drama, featuring a cast of fresh faces, has officially become the highest-grossing Malayalam film at the Kerala box office of all time — and it did it in just 25 days.
The Record-Breaking Numbers
Vaazha 2 surpassed the lifetime collection of Lokah Chapter One: Chandra, which had grossed Rs. 121.90 crore in its full theatrical run. On Day 25, the film collected approximately Rs. 1.90 crore, pushing its Kerala total to Rs. 122.75 crore.
And it’s not stopping there. The film is expected to wrap up its fourth week around Rs. 127 crore, with an additional Rs. 10–15 crore possible beyond that — pointing to a final Kerala theatrical tally of around Rs. 140 crore gross. Globally, Vaazha 2 is projected to close its theatrical journey around Rs. 250 crore gross.

Why This Is Such a Big Deal
Malayalam cinema has a rich tradition of box office dominance by established superstars. For a film led entirely by newcomers to not just compete — but conquer — is genuinely unprecedented.
Vaazha 2 stars Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak in the leading roles, directed by Savin Sa with Vipin Das as writer. \No legacy names. No pan-India marketing machinery. Just pure word-of-mouth and a story that clearly resonated deeply with Kerala audiences.
The franchise’s popularity is so strong that a third instalment has already been announced.
What This Means for Malayalam Cinema
Vaazha 2’s success is a clear signal — Kerala audiences are hungry for authentic, relatable storytelling. You don’t need a Mohanlal or Mammootty billing to fill theatres; you need a story people genuinely want to share with friends and family.
