When a film with an entirely newcomer cast pulls in ₹5.20 crore on Day 1, you stop and take notice. That’s exactly what Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros. did — and Malayalam cinema hasn’t seen anything quite like it from a debut ensemble. No big names. No star power. Just pure audience love.

It’s the kind of opening that makes you root for the underdogs even harder.

Vaazha 2: Breaking the Record Books

Vaazha 2 didn’t just open big — it rewrote history. The film shattered an 8-year-old record previously held by Aadhi (2018), which had debuted to ₹2.17 crore with a newcomer lead. That’s nearly 2.4x the previous record, which is staggering for any debutant film.

Most of its shows went houseful across Kerala, signalling that word-of-mouth had already done its magic before release. The film also reportedly crossed double-digit worldwide collections on Day 1 — again, a historic first for a full-debut cast in Malayalam cinema.

Top 5 Opening Day Collections at Kerala Box Office

Rank	Film	Day 1 Collection
1	Aadu 3	₹5.90 crore
2	Vaazha 2	₹5.20 crore
3	Chatha Pacha	₹3.70 crore
4	Dhurandhar 2 (Malayalam)	₹3.10 crore
5	Valathu Vashathe Kallan	₹1.25 crore

Only Aadu 3 — a franchise with Jayasurya at the helm — stands ahead. For a brand-new cast, finishing second in 2026 is nothing short of extraordinary.

Vaazha 2: Movies Details

Vaazha 2 is the sequel to the cult hit Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys, produced and written by Vipin Das. Directed by Savin Sa, the film features Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak in the lead roles. What makes it stand apart is its vibrant music — handled by the fresh collective Malayali Monkeys along with several indie artists — and sharp editing by Kannan Mohan.
