The Numbers That Tell a Remarkable Story

In 27 days, Vaazha 2 has surpassed Rs. 125 crore gross in Kerala alone — making it the highest-grossing film in Kerala box office history, overtaking all previous records including major star vehicles. That’s a jaw-dropping feat for a franchise built entirely on fresh faces. The film stars Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak — none of them household names before this franchise arrived.

Directed by Savin Sa and written by Vipin Das, the film is a crowd-pleasing celebration of youth, friendship, and ambition. It’s the kind of story that Malayalam cinema — known for its love of authentic, grounded narratives — has always embraced with open arms.

What’s Next — And Why the Party Isn’t Over Yet

The film is expected to add around Rs. 9 crore in its fourth week, then cross the Rs. 130 crore mark during the fifth weekend. Its projected lifetime total sits around Rs. 140 crore gross in Kerala — an absolutely staggering number for a newcomer-led sequel. The only cloud on the horizon is the upcoming release of Patriot, featuring Mammootty and Mohanlal, which may slow things down. And just to make it even sweeter — the third instalment of the franchise has already been officially announced.
