Netflix has come with a big announcement for Indian shows. Netflix India is as busy as ever, there are dozens of scripted and unscripted shows and movies lined up for 2023 and beyond. It contains several previously released series that still hang in the balance, but there are tons of new shows in the pipeline. In this list, you will get a flavor of the cocktail. From ‘Mission Majnu’, ‘Chakda Express’ to ‘Social Currency’, and ‘Soup’.
Here are all the Indian Original series and movies on Netflix in 2023 or beyond:
23. Mumbai Mafia: Police vs The Underworld
Release Date: 6th January 2023
The story is about the true crime documentary Mumbai Mafia: Police vs The Underworld is the first Original Film out of the gate in 2023. The film follows the battle for the future of Mumbai which raged through the 1990s, fought on the city’s streets between the police and organized crime.
22. Mission Majnu
Release Date: 20th January 2023
Mission Majnu was intended for a theatrical release, but Netflix has taken the period spy thriller. In this film, Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna collaborate for the first time in the leading role in a Hindi film after much success in South Indian cinema. Malhotra plays an intelligence officer who goes undercover in Pakistan to expose nuclear secrets in the 1970s.
21. The Archies
Release Date: In 2023
The director Zoya Akhtar’s musical adaptation of Archie comics was declared in November 2021, the first time it has introduced the cast, which contains Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Dot., Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, Yuvraj Menda.
20. Chakda ‘Xpress
Release Date: In 2023
This is the first movie of Anushka Sharma after her maternity break. The sports biopic followed rigorous training and shooting in both England and India. The film is an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket. The film represents the life of Indian women cricketer Jhulan Ghoshami decided to become a cricketer and make her country proud on the global stage, it was very tough for women to even think of playing the sport.
19. Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga
Release Date: In 2023
Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga is a tremendous development history. Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal ultimately wound up leading in this story of a diamond heist aboard an airplane that goes awry when the flight has been hijacked.
18. Kathal

Nayanthara is one of the popular South Indian superstars who was given the nickname “Lady Superstar.” It’s only fitting that she should get her own documentary. Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale covers her success and gives her fans a glimpse inside her marriage with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan.
15. Super Soldier

Ali Abbas Zafar is just about ready to start the production of the superhero film Super Soldier. In this movie, Zaffar will collaborate with ever-green and gorgeous Katrina Kaif.
14. The Devotion of Suspect X adaptation
Sujoy Ghosh’s new Netflix adaptation of Keigo Higashino’s mystery novel The Devotion of Suspect X back in March. The adaptation features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vijay Varma, and Jaideep Ahlawat shooting in Darjeeling. The story of the film follows, a single mother and her daughter who commit a crime and a neighbor who helps them cover it up amidst a police investigation.”
13. Untitled Laxman Utekar directorial
This film features Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan wrapped their still untitled movie for director Laxman Utekar and producer Dinesh Vijan back in January, and rumor has it that the film will premiere directly on Netflix and skip theaters.
12. Scoop
Release Date: In 2023
Hansal Mehta’s collaboration for the first time with Netflix is based on the book Behind the Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison by Jigna Vora. In this series Scoop, Karishma Tanna plays the role of a crime journalist jailed for the murder of another reporter.
11. Social Currency
The reality series Social Currency wrapped filming more than a year ago, but we only got a first glimpse of the show in Netflix’s August reality programming video. The story follows, the eight influencers trapped in a villa and tasked with building new social media profiles from scratch Ruhi Singh, Mridul Madhok, Bhavin Bhanushali, Vagmita Singh, Parth Laghate, Aakash Mehta, Rowhi Rai, and Sakshi Chopra.
10. Soup
Release Date: In 2023
Abhishek Chaubey has been dedicated to two Netflix Original anthologies before, but Soup is his first series. The latest dark comedy has an amazing cast, with Lust Stories 2 director Konkona Sen Sharma playing a leading chef and Manoj Bajpayee as her suspicious husband.
9. Untitled Indian Airlines Flight 814 series
Release Date: In 2023
This series is under development, Netflix follows the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814 for a couple of years. Kabir Khan, renowned Action director was previously attached to the project, but now the reins have been handed to social issue drama specialist Anubhav Sinha.
8. Mindscapes
Release Date: In 2023
This is another anthology under the banner of Mindscapes, the story is mainly a combination of ten short stories by prolific writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair. Netflix’s first Malayalam anthology brings together a powerful lineup that includes Mammootty in a film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and Mohanlal in director Priyadarshan’s remake of the 1970 movie Olavum Theeravum.
7. Heeramandi
Release Date: In 2023
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s most awaited film generates news coverage along with a reliable report confirming Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, and Sonakshi Sinha as the series’ leading ladies. The story of Bhansali’s film is about courtesans in pre-Independence Lahore is bound to be lavish, with expensive sets and elaborate dance numbers. We’re really looking forward to this one.
6. Trial By Fire
Release Date: 13th January 2023
The plot is about the year 1997 when a fire inside a South Delhi film theater killed 59 people and injured 100 more. The series Trial by Fire follows a book of the same name by Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy. The parents lost two children in the blaze. Director Prashant Nair uses a non-linear style to tell the story of the parents’ pursuit of justice in the decades that followed the tragedy.
5. Baahubali: Before the Beginning
Release Date: In 2023
‘Baahubali: Before the Beginning’ will hit in 2023. It has been updated that boutique production house Bombay Fables had taken over the project. Entertainment and gossip site Pinkvilla has reported that the series had been shelved entirely. At last, on 27th January, reporter Naman Ramachandran clarified in Variety that Baahubali: Before the Beginning was being reevaluated.
4. Choona
Release Date: In 2023
Choona star Jimmy Shergill told that he has anticipated the comedy heist show in the world of Uttar Pradesh politics would release on Netflix sometime in 2022.
3. Class
Release Date: In 2023
Class is mainly an Indian adaptation of the popular Netflix Original Spanish series Elite. The film follows Sparks’s flight at New Delhi’s upscale Hampton International when three new students from starkly different backgrounds challenge the existing dynamics at this elite enclave.
The new series is directed by Ashim Ahluwalia, whose feature films have debuted at Cannes and the Toronto International Film Festival.
2. Dabba Cartel
Release Date: In 2023
PeepingMoon has been reported that Shonali Bose getting tapped to direct the show. The story of five housewives who run a high-stakes secret cartel. It features Shabana Azmi signed for one of the lead roles.
1. For Your Eyes Only
Release Date: In 2023
This is another production from Bombay Fables, the espionage thriller For Your Eyes Only is penned by Gaurav Shukla and Bhavesh Mandalia. He previously collaborated on the comedy Angrezi Medium. For Your Eyes Only stars Pratik Gandhi and Kritika Kamra.
