This year, we embark on an epic chapter titled The Age of Unmaking, introducing a plethora of demonic challenges and enriching gameplay experiences that will redefine our journey in Sanctuary.

The Excitement Begins: Precipice of Horror Update
Our adventure into the unknown starts with the upcoming major update, Precipice of Horror. As the name suggests, it brings forth an array of hellish challenges designed to test the mettle of even the most seasoned adventurers.
Terror Rifts: Gateway to Stygian Fragments
Sanctuary finds itself under siege as Terror Rifts rupture its very fabric. These rifts are active daily from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 1 a.m. server time, appearing randomly in three zones for 20-minute intervals. Brave souls willing to step into these portals will encounter formidable monsters guarding the coveted Stygian Fragments. Collect these fragments and offer them to the Stygian Spire to summon and defeat the boss lurking within, rewarding you with the newly introduced Terror Essence among other treasures.
The Ultimate Test: Oblivion Pillars
Armed with Terror Essence, adventurers are called upon to face the Oblivion Pillars, the ultimate endurance challenge available only to those daring to venture on Inferno Difficulty I or higher. Survivors of these relentless monster waves stand a chance to acquire Eternal Equipment and other valuable rewards.
Hellslayer Bounties: The Hunt for Eternal Equipment
For both group and solo players tackling Inferno Difficulty I and above, Hellslayer Bounties present an opportunity to earn Codex credit and a reward chest potentially containing Eternal Equipment. By spending one Terror Essence, players can convert 4 normal, active Bounties into a Hellslayer Bounty at the Bounty Board.
The Arrival of Eternal Equipment and New Affixes
Eternal Equipment, the rarest and most powerful item type in Sanctuary, introduces a new tier of gear exclusively obtainable from Terror Rifts, Oblivion Pillars, and Hellslayer Bounties. These items boast 3 Attributes and 4 Magic Affixes, further enhancing your character’s prowess. Additionally, a fresh pool of 56 Affixes will be introduced, enriching the gameplay with items featuring 1-3 Magic Affixes sourced from the aforementioned challenges.
Looking Ahead: A Year of Unprecedented Adventure
The 2024 Roadmap doesn’t stop here. Later updates promise the introduction of a new class to the Diablo universe, our second-anniversary celebration with bountiful rewards, and a pair of main quests leading to an ultimate confrontation with Diablo himself.
