How to Get the Resident Evil Grace Skin for Free

Claiming this exclusive Fortnite cosmetic requires just two simple steps:

Step 1: Pre-Purchase Resident Evil Requiem

Head to the Epic Games Store and pre-order Resident Evil Requiem before the February 27, 2026 deadline. The game officially launches on the same date, so you’re essentially getting early access benefits plus the free Fortnite skin.

Step 2: Check Your Fortnite Library

Once your purchase is confirmed, the Grace skin will automatically appear in your Fortnite in-game library. Make sure you’re logged into the same Epic Games account you use for Fortnite—this is crucial for successful reward redemption.

That’s it! No complicated challenges, no grinding—just a straightforward pre-order reward that celebrates the Epic Games and Capcom partnership.

When Will You Receive the Skin?

While your pre-order qualifies you immediately, Epic Games will distribute the Resident Evil Grace skin in March 2026—shortly after Resident Evil Requiem releases on February 27, 2026.

This timing makes sense: Epic wants to build hype for the game’s launch while keeping Fortnite players engaged with fresh cosmetics. For gamers who love exclusive crossover content, this collaboration delivers on both fronts.

Who Is Grace Ashcroft?

Grace Ashcroft is a character from the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem, the next installment in Capcom’s legendary survival horror franchise. While specific story details remain under wraps, her inclusion in Fortnite suggests she’ll play a significant role in the new game.

The character-based skin allows Fortnite players to rep the Resident Evil universe before they even experience the game. It’s smart cross-promotion that benefits both franchises.

Why This Collaboration Matters

This crossover represents more than just a free skin—it’s a strategic move in gaming’s evolving landscape:

Epic Games Store Exclusivity: By tying the skin to Epic Store pre-orders, Epic strengthens its position against competitors like Steam.

Cross-Franchise Appeal: Horror fans who wouldn’t normally play Fortnite might jump in for Resident Evil content, while Fortnite players discover a new game series.

Pre-Order Incentives: Free cosmetics create compelling reasons to commit early rather than wait for reviews.

For gamers interested in crossover events and exclusive rewards, this partnership sets a precedent for future collaborations.

Important Things to Remember

✅ Account consistency is critical: Use the same Epic Games account for both purchases
✅ Deadline matters: Pre-order before February 27, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET
✅ Skin arrives later: Expect distribution in March 2026, not immediately
✅ Region restrictions: Check if Resident Evil Requiem is available in your region on Epic Games Store
✅ Additional rewards coming: More free items will be announced before launch

Is the Pre-Order Worth It?

If you planned to buy Resident Evil Requiem anyway, this is pure bonus value. The Grace skin alone makes the Epic Games Store version more attractive than other platforms.

However, if you’re only interested in the Fortnite skin, consider whether a full game purchase ($60-70 typically) is worth one cosmetic. Patient players might find better deals on standalone skins in the Item Shop.

For Resident Evil franchise fans, though, this is a no-brainer—you support the series while scoring exclusive Fortnite content.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get the Resident Evil Grace skin without buying Resident Evil Requiem?

No, the Grace skin is exclusively available as a pre-order bonus for Resident Evil Requiem on the Epic Games Store. There’s no alternative method to obtain it for free. However, Epic Games might eventually offer similar Resident Evil cosmetics in the Fortnite Item Shop for V-Bucks purchase, though these would likely be different skins. The Grace Ashcroft skin specifically requires the pre-order before February 27, 2026.

Will the Resident Evil Grace skin return to the Fortnite Item Shop later?

Epic Games hasn’t confirmed whether the pre-order exclusive Grace skin will become available for purchase later. Historically, some collaboration skins remain exclusive to their initial promotion, while others eventually appear in the Item Shop. Since this is a pre-order incentive, it’s likely to remain exclusive to encourage early purchases. If you want to guarantee getting the skin, pre-ordering Resident Evil Requiem is your safest option.
