Unknown 9: Awakening: Gameplay, Release Date And More
It was at the Game Awards 2020, that the new Montreal–based game development studio Reflector Entertainment made a bit of a splash about Unknown 9: Awakening. At the event, we just got a glimpse of the idea behind the game.
And since then, it has been a long four years until now when we have finally made some official announcements. Although there were some rumours and leaks, nothing weighs like an official announcement.
At that time, what impressed me about Unknown 9: Awakening was its cinematic scenes. Also at that time, next-gen consoles were launched, so players were excited that soon they would get their hands on the game.
But little did they know that their wait was going to be this long. Apart from the Unknown 9: Awakening game, the game development studio has ambitious plans for a full Unknown 9 multimedia universe, including comics, novels, and more.
However, after this, surprisingly, we didn’t hear even a word from Reflector and there was no talk about anything related to Unknown 9: Awakening or the Unknown multimedia universe.
Now, after such a long wait, when no one saw this coming, the game resurfaced again in the Xbox Partner Preview showcase. In the event, the game was shown with its gameplay, which was, although not as good as the previously shown cinematic scenes, better than most of the games.
Unknown 9: Awakening can be thought of as an indie Assassin’s Creed, with a main character named Haroona with unique magical “Umbric abilities”. In the game, you can attack from afar, shield yourself, and even control your enemies.
The event trailer for Unknown 9: Awakening was revealed, which also suggests that the game has been inspired by Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise. And as we already know Reflectors are stuck on their plan of the Unknown multimedia universe.
Talking about the release date, we only that the Unknown 9: Awakening is ready for this summer for platforms including Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, PS4 and PS5.
