Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League has now been wrapped up, with Manchester City defeating Borussia Dortmund, and Real Madrid defeating RB Leipzig among other notable results. Here is all the action from last night:

UEFA Champions League 22/23 results : Sept 14

  • Milan 3-1 Dinamo Zagreb
  • Shakhtar Donetsk 1-1 Celtic
  • Rangers 0-3 Napoli
  • Chelsea 1-1 RB Salzburg
  • Real Madrid 2-0 RB Leipzig
  • Manchester City 2-1 Borussia Dortmund
  • FC Copenhagen 0-0 Sevilla
  • Maccabi Haifa 1-3 PSG
  • Juventus 1-2 Benfica

Manchester City 2-1 Borussia Dortmund

The most eye-catching game of the night saw the English champions overturn a deficit to win. John Stones scored a screamer reminiscent of Vincent Kompany’s crazy long-range shot, while Erling Haaland also worked a moment of brilliance against his former side to give his side the lead, and all three points.

Real Madrid 2-0 RB Leipzig

It was level between the two teams until the 80th minute, which is when Vinicius Jr found Federico Valverde with a cross, who slotted it into the bottom corner. And after throwing a fit over playing time, Marco Asensio scored the matchwinner in injury time, with a stunning left-footed strike.

Juventus 1-2 Benfica

Juventus have lost their first two Champions League group stage games for the first time. They were defeated by PSG last week, and have lost by the same scoreline again. Benfica now have six points alongside PSG, and Juventus now run the risk of dropping down to the Europa League.
