Ubisoft Releases Hotfix for Star Wars Outlaws on PC: Version 1.1.1 Enhances Performance and Stability

Ubisoft has recently rolled out a hotfix specifically for the PC version of their open-world space adventure, Star Wars Outlaws. This update, version 1.1.1, aims to address various performance issues and improve the overall stability of the game.

The developer announced the update on their official social media(X/Twitter) channels, emphasizing that it is currently exclusive to PC players and is designed to resolve several “known issues.”

Ubisoft

Focus on VRAM and Stability Improvements

One of the key areas targeted by this hotfix is the game’s use of VRAM. Ubisoft has acknowledged concerns from players regarding the game’s performance, particularly in handling VRAM, which is crucial for ensuring smooth gameplay. The update promises enhancements in this area, which should result in a more stable and enjoyable experience for PC gamers.

In addition to VRAM optimization, the hotfix also brings broader stability improvements to the game. These adjustments are expected to reduce crashes, frame drops, and other technical glitches that have been affecting the player experience since launch.

Ubisoft has expressed gratitude towards the community for their continued feedback, stating, “We hear you and we’re working hard to make sure the Outer Rim is the best it can be for you to explore.”

Star Wars Outlaws made its debut on August 27, 2024, initially releasing for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. Unlike other recent Star Wars titles such as Star Wars Battlefront or Star Wars Squadrons, Star Wars Outlaws is a single-player experience.

The game places players in the role of Kay Vess, a young scoundrel attempting to carve out a name for herself in the galaxy. The narrative-driven adventure is more akin to the Star Wars Jedi series, offering a mix of exploration, combat, and character-driven storytelling.

Early Access Woes and Ubisoft’s Response

Despite the excitement surrounding the game’s launch, not everything has gone smoothly. Early access players on the PlayStation 5 encountered issues that forced them to restart the game after purchasing the premium editions.

This setback led to frustration among those who had paid extra for early access. In response, Ubisoft offered compensation, but many players felt it was insufficient, leaving a portion of the community dissatisfied.

Conclusion: A Promising Yet Imperfect Journey

Star Wars Outlaws continues to capture the imagination of Star Wars fans with its ambitious open-world design and engaging single-player campaign. However, the road has been uneven, with technical issues and early access troubles marring the experience for some players.

With the release of hotfix 1.1.1, Ubisoft aims to improve the game’s stability and performance, addressing some of the community’s most pressing concerns. As the game evolves, players can hope for a smoother, more polished experience as they explore the galaxy far, far away.
