A handful of AMD Ryzen 4000U powered laptops are in India and its due to their high demand that their prices have been fluctuating so much. AMD has admitted the fact that they are facing availability issues due to the unprecedented sales, so a lot of new laptops haven’t even made its way to India, and the ones there are either getting out of stock or getting extraordinary price hikes.
I have always kept the track of these Ryzen powered laptops and I’ve spotted two new laptops that have received a sweet discount recently and here are the two of them:
Acer Swift 3
This is one of the first Ryzen 4000U powered laptops in India and has been there for quite some time now, however, it was retailing for Rs. 66k and now its finally retailing for Rs. 62k and many people who had been looking for a great laptop in that Rs.60k price range can find the laptop to be a good option.
- Display: 14″ display with IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology, Full HD 1920 x 1080, high-brightness Acer ComfyView LED-backlit TFT LCD
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 4500U hexa-core processor with max turbo up to 4.0Ghz | RAM: 8 GB of onboard LPDDR4 system memory
- Graphics: AMD Radeon Graphics
- Storage : 512 GB, PCIe Gen3 8 Gb/s up to 4 lanes, NVMe SSD | OS : Windows 10 Home 64-bit
- Battery life: Battery life up to 12 hours | Thickness: 15.9mm
Overall this is a great mid-range laptop with the powerful Ryzen 5 4500U, decent display, and long battery life. I feel this laptop can do the job for a lot of people and it’s much better than the Core i5 options in that price range.
If you need a good work laptop or if you are a student and need a good laptop for compiling codes or doing day to day stuff, this is a great option, however, do note the RAM is soldered, so you will be stuck with 8GB for rest of the future.

Asus VivoBook Flip 14
One of the most promising new laptop has got to be the Asus VivoBook Flip 14 which is a 2-in-1 laptop powered by the new Ryzen 4000 APUs. Asus has launched 3 variants of the laptop ranging from Ryzen 3 4300U to Ryzen 7 4700U. However, the Ryzen 5 4500U is a good option because of the stronger processor and graphics and can use the 8GB RAM onboard RAM.
- 14-inch LED-backlit Full HD (1920 x 1080) display
- 8GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM | 512GB SSD
- AMD Ryzen 5 4500U hexa-core processor with max turbo up to 4.0Ghz with integrated AMD Radeon RX Vega 6 Graphics
- Windows 10 Home (64bit) operating system
- 3-cells 50Wh lithium-polymer battery, 1.50kg laptop
I am a fan of this laptop because of the value it packs inside it, a touchscreen 2-in-1 laptop with a powerful APU, a decent build quality, upgradable RAM, and respectable battery life.
Previously, the laptop was retailing at Rs. 65k and now its Rs. 61,500 which makes the deal even better, I would strongly recommend the laptop who are looking for a powerful 2-in-1 which has good build quality and is value for money. A review of this laptop will be coming next week, so keep an eye here.
