Just Two Days Between Premiere and Streaming: “VisionQuest” Sets a New MCU Record for the Shortest Gap in Disney+ History

Marvel Studios is rewriting its own release playbook. “VisionQuest,” Paul Bettany’s long-awaited continuation of Vision’s story following WandaVision, is about to set a historic precedent — premiering at a major film festival just two days before hitting Disney+.

The series will screen its first two episodes early at the British Film Institute’s London Film Festival on October 12, ahead of its official Disney+ streaming debut on October 14 — the shortest gap ever between a premiere and streaming release for a new MCU Disney+ series.

VisionQuest: Overview

VisionQuest: Breaking the Previous Record

Before VisionQuest, the tightest turnaround belonged to Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which held an exclusive NYC premiere just one day before its Season 2 debut — though that was a returning season, not a brand-new series. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law previously held the record for new series with a three-day gap back in 2022.

Completing a Storyline Years in the Making

VisionQuest marks the completion of the MCU’s first live-action trilogy since Disney acquired Marvel Studios, following Vision’s journey to rediscover his humanity — and possibly reunite with pieces of his past.

What’s Next for MCU Disney+ Shows?

The historic release is just one part of a packed slate ahead, including Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 in March 2027 (bringing back Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist), along with rumored projects like Strange Academy, Champions, and a mystery detective-themed Special Presentation.
