After more than ten years with the agency that shaped her career, TWICE’s Jeongyeon is stepping into a new chapter. She confirmed the news personally, in her own words, on August 10 — and within hours, her next home was already official.

How the News Broke
Jeongyeon shared the announcement herself, posting a handwritten letter on Instagram rather than leaving it to an agency statement. In it, she reflected on JYP Entertainment as a place that had felt like a second home since her teenage years, filled with memories she clearly still treasures. She acknowledged that leaving something so familiar felt daunting at first, but credited her fellow TWICE members and ONCE — the group’s fanbase — for giving her the courage to move forward.
Importantly, she was direct about what won’t change: TWICE remains her top priority, and her place within the group stays exactly as it is. She framed this move as a parallel path — continuing her journey as TWICE’s Jeongyeon while stepping into new challenges as an individual artist under her given name, Yu Jeongyeon.
VARO Entertainment Welcomes Her
Just hours after her letter went up, VARO Entertainment confirmed they’d signed her to an exclusive contract. The agency expressed genuine excitement about the partnership, highlighting her range as an artist and her sincerity toward acting as key reasons for the signing. They also emphasized their intent to support her acting ambitions while ensuring her group activities with TWICE continue running smoothly.
Jeongyeon now joins a roster that includes her own sister, actress Gong Seung Yeon, alongside names like Byeon Woo Seok, Jin Goo, and Lee Chae Min — putting her in solid company as she branches into new creative territory.
