The world’s most valuable semiconductor company, TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) reveals its plans to set up its 3nm IC production facility at Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP). As per them, this will be ready to start production on a mass scale in 2022.
At STSP, one of the world’s main IC industries is forming and that is boosted by TSMC itself as it is operating a maximum of the 5nm process facility from there.
The Southern Taiwan Science Park will be one of the main 5nm as well as 3nm IC industry clusters. Reason? As per the quote of Chairman Mark Liu, TSMC will have 60-70% of the manufacturing capacity located there and that is also between 2024 and 2025.
States dig up that only the chipmakers generated around NT$97.96 billion revenue in total during July and August, which is 64.96% of the total revenue generated during those two months.
The Southern Taiwan Science Park declared around NT$150.8 billion during the July and August time period. This figure is 12.85% up in comparison to the same time of 2019.
