What Happens in the Trying S5

Season 5 finds Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) still dealing with the fallout of Princess and Tyler’s biological mother, Kat, showing up in their lives and disrupting their once-settled household. That tension carries straight into the Halloween chapter, where Nikki and Jason’s date night gets derailed by suspicion, while Princess’s night spirals completely out of control. The teen storylines have been building all season too — Princess and Tyler are growing into teenagers navigating their own worries, from crushes to Halloween party-hopping with friends, which sets up exactly the kind of trouble hinted at in this episode’s synopsis. Collider
