Fresh Ideas for Better Public Services
The Seva First Innovation Challenge is being organised under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Its goal is simple: encourage students, researchers and startups to come up with smart answers to everyday governance problems, from how citizens access services to how departments deliver them. The government expects it to build a strong pipeline of ideas that can improve citizen-centric services across the state.

A Scheme That Has Reached 63,000 Students
The Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana, or MYYY, returns for the 2025-26 academic year. Since it began in 2019-20, it has benefited more than 63,000 students, with spending of over ₹31.62 crore. By helping students get smartphones and access to digital platforms, the scheme aims to close the digital divide and support learning, skill building and digital education. For many students, a phone is the first step into online classes and training.
Digi-SAPNE 3.0: Support for Northeast Startups
The third edition of Digi-SAPNE is a startup acceleration programme run by AIC-SMUTBI together with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. It offers technology startups across the North Eastern Region structured mentorship, business acceleration and investor connect. Three Tripura startups, Cubo Bots, Acuvea Healthcare Technologies and HN Technovations LLP, were selected in earlier editions, and eight startups chosen under Digi-SAPNE 2.0 were felicitated at the event.
Building a Startup-Friendly State
Officials pointed to the Sector Agnostic Tripura Start-Up Policy 2024 as a key driver, along with incentives, recognition, mentoring and incubation support. Speakers also mentioned programmes such as Startup Tripura, T-RISE, T-NEST and NGIN. Leaders from the central government and academia, along with the state’s higher education minister, stressed that students should become innovators and job creators, not just job seekers.
