Jio gains subscribers despite the pandemic while other telecom operators struggle
According to TRAI’s latest subscription report for the month of May 2020, Reliance Jio has gained a whopping 36 lakh new subscribers in the lockdown period.
This has made Reliance Jio largest telecom operator in India as it was behind the Vodafone-Idea merger by a fraction. It was coming and we knew Jio would be the top subscriber and it has, now holding 34.33% market share.
Here are some new achievements Jio has created as per the latest TRAI reports:
- Compared to Jio, BSNL, on the other hand, added just 2 lakh subscribers
- Vodafone Idea and Airtel both lost around 47 Lakhs subscribers respectively
- Jio added roughly around 18 times more subscribers than what BSNL did
Both Vodafone-Idea and Bharti Airtel have lost chunks of market share – about 47 lakhs of subscribers from each operator. A total of 56 lakh subscribers have been lost as per TRAI’s latest report.
Reliance Jio has added about 36 lakhs of new wireless subscribers while BSNL has added 2 lakhs of new subscribers. Overall, Mukesh Ambani is having his dream come true, gaining more and more subscribers because people trust Jio now for its wide range of reliable services.
